The world famous Passion Play in Oberammergau,
traditionally held very 10 years, is due to be performed
again throughout the summer of 2010. In 1633, when the small
Bavarian Village of Oberammergau was in the grip of a Plague,
it’s inhabitants vowed that if they were spared, they would in future
perform every ten years a Passion Play depicting Christ’s bitter
suffering.
In 1634 the villagers fulfilled their solemn promise for the first time, and for hundreds of years since then, despite dangers and threats they have loyally kept their vow.

Itinerary
DAY 1 : Morning departure to Dover for the ferry crossing to Calais and onto our overnight stop in Belgium.
DAY 2 : Continue into Germany to Oberammergau for our 2 night stay
DAY 3 : Lunch in Oberammergau before the Passion Play starts
Reserved ticket for the Passion Play
Dinner with several courses during the play interval
Shuttle service in Oberammergau
DAY 4 : Depart Oberammergau to the Black Forest for our three night stay.
DAYS 5 & 6 : Included excursions exploring the delightful Black Forest.
DAY 7 : We travel back into Belgium for our last night at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Gent Expo.
DAY 8 : To Calais for the ferry to Dover, and home to your pick up point.

Accomodation in Oberammergau
The accommodation varies on each departure as follows :
HC 2 : Spacious, comfortably furnished rooms of high standard in superior hotels with en-suite facilities and a corner seating unit. They are equipped with : minibar, TV, radio, telephone, hair-dryer and cosmetic articles.
In combination with Passion Play ticket in category 1A
HC 3 : Comfortable rooms with en-suite facilities in superior middle-class hotels. They are equipped with : minibar, TV, radio, telephone, hair-dryer and cosmetic articles.
In combination with Passion Play ticket in category 1
HC4 : Well kept en-suite rooms in middle class hotels. They are equipped with TV.
In combination with admission ticket in category 2
PC1 : Beautiful, large rooms or holiday apartments with private facilities and first-class furnishings.
In combination with admission ticket in category 2
PC2 : Comfortable rooms or holiday apartments with private facilities and high-quality furnishings.
In combination with admission ticket category 2
PC4 : Simple, well-kept rooms or holiday apartments with private facilities ( shower may be on landing outside of the bedroom).

Accommodation from our pre-allocated allocation is arranged by the tourist office.
Each coach can be accommodated in different hotels etc.
Ticket Category: This relates to the position of the seats in the 4720 capacity play theatre. All seats have a good view of the stage and the acoustics are excellent.

Hotel used are of 3 star standard offering private facilities etc.

BALANCE : 100% cancellation charges apply from the balance payment
date.

Holiday Insurance
We can offer our normal holiday insurance cover but because of the long lead in time to the holiday and the enhanced cancellation period the following prices apply.
Age at time of taking out insurance :
Up to 64 years of age = £ 53 per person
65 to 69 years of age = £122 per person
70 to 74 years of age = £149 per person
Clients aged 75 or over cannot be covered for this holiday.
