Share some Christmas cheer at Chatsworth House and immerse yourself in a Christmas feast for the senses as the magic and wonder of an enchanting new festive story, created in partnership with Joseph Coelho OBE, inspires the sights, smells, and sounds of this year’s Christmas at Chatsworth experience.Young Henry Cavendish, budding experimental scientist and grandson of the 2nd Duke of Devonshire, is searching for the legendary Chatsworth lion, while Lion is on the hunt for a delicious Christmas feast!Join them, and a menace of mischievous mice, as you journey through over 20 rooms in the house, each adorned with festive decorations, twinkling lights, and surprises designed to ignite your imagination and encourage you to see things from a new perspective.In the garden, follow an interactive light trail that leads to a giant animated projection on the house.
Day 1 Early morning departure to travel into the Peak District and on to Chatsworth House where you can admire the house decorated for Christmas. "Immerse yourself in a Christmas feast for the senses as the magic and wonder of a new festive story, Henry and the Lion's Christmas Feast, created in partnership with Joseph Coelho OBE, inspires the sights, smells, and sounds of this year’s Christmas at Chatsworth experience." Enjoy some of the magnificent rooms within the house* as well as Chatsworth’s most significant art collection. Also unlimited access to the 105 acre garden with the waterworks, sculptures, maze and more. There will also be a Christmas market on site and you will have access to this during your visit. Depart Chatsworth to make your way to the hotel for a two night stay.
*NB: Please note selected rooms on the upper floor of the house will be closed for annual conservation. Day 2 This morning you will commence your journey to the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria, Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market. It offers a large range of traditional goods and gifts as well as a selection of tempting food and drink. Pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, and roasted almonds will tempt your tastebuds, all of which can be washed down with gluhwein, weissbeer (wheat beer), or tasty hot chocolate. The coach will return late afternoon to return you to the hotel.Day 3 After breakfast, depart the hotel and journey to Stratford-upon-Avon with more than 800 years of history. You'll have free time before continuing the homeward journey.
