Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Morecambe and the hotel for a five night stay.

Day 2 A free day to explore or relax in the resort which recently featured in ITV’s popular drama series ‘The Bay’. Take a stroll along the promenade and have your picture taken with Eric Morecambe. 

Day 3 A visit to Samlesbury Hall, built in 1325 and steeped in fascinating history whilst retaining its original black and white exterior. Enjoy a guided tour of the hall before travelling to Rawtenstall for a single train journey on the East Lancashire Railway to Bury.

Day 4 Today you will visit the county town of Lancaster with free time to explore and have some lunch before enjoying a canal boat trip on the Lancaster Canal and travelling over the River Lune aqueduct. This will be followed by a visit to the ‘Brief Encounter’ Visitor Centre at Carnforth before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 Travel by way of Settle with views of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park before continuing to the thriving market town of Skipton for free time and lunch. You will then continue the journey to Towneley Hall, Burnley surrounded by breath-taking Pennine countryside. From the Priest’s Hole to the attic Towneley Hall is fascinating with period rooms covering several centuries of life at the hall. Stroll along the long gallery past bedrooms dating back to the 16th century or have a quiet moment in the chapel.

Day 6 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
