Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Dover and the crossing to Calais and onto Luxembourg for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning you travel through the Moselle Valley to Remich, with a charming town centre and a tree-lined promenade along the banks of the Moselle River. Explore the many lovely squares, fountains
and churches throughout the town. Afterwards you travel to ‘Little Switzerland’, visiting the pretty medieval town of Echternach which is nestled in the meandering valley of the Sauer River. Echternach is an abbey town and is the oldest city in Luxembourg.
Day 3 Enjoy a morning exploring the city of Luxembourg with its cobbled streets, tree-lined squares and 1000-year old fortifications that stand side by side with cafes, bars, museums and art galleries. Returning to Vianden for a relaxing afternoon in the hotel preparing for the evening’s festivities. You will be served a six-course dinner followed by live music, dancing and a glass of bubbly at midnight to welcome in the New Year.
Day 4 HAPPY NEW YEAR After brunch you will travel to neighbouring Germany and to Trier, Germany’s oldest city. Emperor Augustus founded Trier as a Roman colony in 16BC. The Cathedral of Trier is one of the main sights of the city and the oldest. Make sure you see the impressive Porta Nigra, which once formed part of the city’s Roman Walls as well as many other attractions.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
