Lille & Bruges Christmas Markets

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Dover for the sea crossing to Calais. Continuing on to France and to Lille for a three night stay.

Day 2 Journey to Bruges which is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings, horse- drawn carriage rides, boat rides and chocolate. Stroll the historic city taking in the 17th century houses, now converted into restaurants and cafes and see the 13th century Belfry with its 47 bell carillon and the tower where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. The markets can be found in the Market Square and Simon Stevinplein. There will be a good range of stalls offering delicious local food and drinks, hot chocolate, ice-cold Jenever, spiced 'Gluhwein', Belgian beers, cheeses and hearty dishes. You will also find a wide range of attractive, original and handmade Christmas gifts.
Please note: There is approx. 15 minute walk from the coach park.

Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, make the short journey into Lille. Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of old Lille with its Flemish architecture or visit the magnificent Grand Place where centuries of history converge in a stunning display of architecture and is home to the impressive fountain. The City Hall Belfry, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as the world's tallest belfry at an impressive 104 metres. Visitors who brave the climb to its summit are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of Lille and its surroundings. The Christmas Market is centred around Place Rihour. Stroll among the food and drink stalls, discover local crafts and enjoy seasonal treats in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.

steps at entrance, no lift however ground floor rooms available on request.
