This tour will give you the opportunity to visit the coast, Hestercombe Gardens and enjoy a train ride through Somerset’s countryside.

Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Warminster for free time and lunch before continuing to the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 Today you will head to Hestercombe Gardens, famous for their unique collection of gardens which span three centuries of history and design. The Edwardian formal garden is hailed as one of the finest examples of the world-renowned partnership between garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Afterwards you will visit Sheppy’s, one of the homes of traditional Somerset cider. Enjoy a tour and tipple before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 A day at the seaside in Weston-Super-Mare. Free time to visit the pier, beach and town centre.

Day 4 This morning you will travel to Cranmore and the East Somerset Railway. Enjoy a 40 minute train ride on their heritage train and visit the engine shed, workshops as well as the small museum, signal box, shop and cafeĢ. In the afternoon visit the Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum. This museum covers all aspects of the social and industrial history of the former north Somerset coal field. Time to explore and visit the tearoom.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.

Hotel

Originally an attractive Edwardian Manor, the house and grounds have been developed to create a peaceful and spacious hotel. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, telephone, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. Restaurant, bar and extensive leisure club facilities including swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms.

NB: There is no lift, but some ground floor rooms available on request. Also there are 11 steps to the entrance and 8 steps from reception to bedrooms.
