Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the delightful cathedral city of Gloucester, where you will have the chance to explore and discover some of the history of the city. Gloucester is a city with a long and distinguished history and it retains a surprising number of interesting historic buildings. Many of these were either built as pubs, or have since been converted into pubs, and still retain a great deal of character. There is also lots to discover at Gloucester Dock, just a stone’s throw from the city centre, take a visit to the most inland port in the country and explore Victorian dock buildings, designer outlet shops, cosy cafes and fascinating museums. You will then transfer to the hotel for a two night stay.
Day 2 This morning you will travel to Cheltenham which offers a fantastic mix of traditional and modern culture, not to mention being the most complete Regency town in the UK. When it comes to things to do, there is a wide range of attractions, parks, theatres, museums and points of interest plus an abundance of culture and heritage. After enjoying lunch you will then travel to Colesbourne Park, the premier place to see snowdrops in bloom and recognised as ‘England’s greatest snowdrop garden’ by Country Life. Explore the woodland, lakeside paths and impressive ‘carpet’ of snowdrops at your own pace before returning to the hotel.
Day 3 After breakfast, depart the hotel and head to Stow-on-the-Wold for a break before continuing to Witney, surrounded by stunning countryside and lying on the edge of the Cotswolds. This is the largest market town in the Cotswolds and its architecture reflects its past prosperity from the wool trade. After lunch you will continue the homeward journey.
