Christmas in Boppard

Day 1 An early departure to Dover for the ferry crossing to Dunkirk, and then continuing the journey into Germany and to Boppard for a five night stay.

Day 2 Today you will visit Rüdesheim, located on the left bank of the Rhine within the Rhine Gorge which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2002. Visit their Christmas market set in the town’s chocolate box quarter; the market brings a distinctly festive feel to the romantic old town. Take a stroll along the Drosselgasse with its pretty narrow lanes and you can see the noble courts and the Adlerturm (Eagle Tower) or just enjoy a glass of wine in one of the cosy taverns.

Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast enjoy some free time in Boppard where the shops will be open this morning. Later enjoy a light lunch of Shepherd's Pie before travelling along the banks of the Rhine to the old town of St Goar, the smallest cosmopolitan town on the Middle Rhine with its pedestrian zone making it easy to explore.

Day 4 MERRY CHRISTMAS Enjoy a buffet breakfast and join the coach for a leisurely drive around the surrounding area before returning to the hotel for a festive Christmas lunch with a glass of sparkling wine. Afterwards you will travel to Werlauer Pilz, a viewpoint with a fantastic view of the Middle Rhine Valley and castle Rheinfels and the Taunus. Enjoy mulled wine and Christmas stollen cake here before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 This morning you will take a cruise on the River Rhine and marvel at the spectacular surrounding scenery. Afterwards meet up in the hotel restaurant and enjoy a light lunch of German pea soup with frankfurter. (all you can eat). The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 6 After breakfast, depart the hotel for the homeward journey.
