Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Dover for the sea crossing to Dunkirk. Whilst on board you will have a meal included. On arrival in Dunkirk, you will travel to Aachen and the hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart late morning and travel to Maastricht, Andre Rieu’s hometown. The town is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture and vibrant culture. It is a city, where past and present merge seamlessly, from the centuries-old churches to the lively squares. There are many museums that have various exciting exhibitions each year and the buildings themselves are a work of art. You will embark on a one hour boat trip on the Meuse before having free time to explore this beautiful old town. Stroll through the town, visit a cathedral of just relax with a coffee and cake in one of the lovely little cafés and watch the world go by. The highlight of your trip is Andre Rieu, surrounded by his Johann Strauss Orchestra. He is a unique musician and conductor who enchants the world with his passion for classical music and his unforgettable concerts. As the founder of the Johann Strauss Orchestra, he has succeeded in making classical music accessible to a wide audience and has inspired millions of people with waltzes and music from opera, film, musicals, operettas and traditional melodies. Enjoy his magical show at the Vrijthof Square and afterwards you will return to the hotel.
Day 3 Today you will travel to Valkenburg for a day at leisure. Famous for its caves and castle, and with numerous shops, restaurants and cafés to browse and you will find plenty to do. You could visit the striking Valkenburg Castle ruins, the only castle in the country, built on a hill, or go underground to explore the fascinating cave network beneath it. You may also wish to take a ride on the chairlift, which transports you high above Valkenburg for a bird’s eye view of the city. It takes you to Wilhelmina Tower where you will also find various fun attractions.
Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
