This cruise will show you Norway’s awe-inspiring natural surroundings as summer turns to autumn. A time of year that’s renowned for the fruit harvest. Ulvik is ideally placed for sampling the local seasonal produce, from apple juice to cider and brandy, while a scenic cruise along Hardangerfjord will showcase orchard-covered valleys and mountains.

Balmoral will also sail the picturesque Nordfjord, passing Hornelen – Europe’s highest sea cliff. There will be opportunities to admire the remarkable landscapes ashore too, perhaps on a hike with a local atop Bergen’s Mount Fløyen, or during a visit to the Briksdal Glacier, accompanied by a local geologist

Itinerary

Balmoral map Norwegian Fjords and the Autumn Fruit Harvest

Day 1 Home pick up for the journey to Newcastle to embark the Balmoral which will set sail late afternoon.

Day 2 Sailing - Some of the best moments of cruising are the days spent at sea where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful programme of events and activities that have been planned for you.

Day 3 Early morning - Olden Norway (anchor port) – late afternoon cruising Nordfjord & Innvikfjord – cruising by Hornelen

Day 4 Early morning arrive Bergen – depart early evening.

Day 5 Early morning arrive Ulvik (anchor port) – cruising Hardangerfjord.

Day 6 Early morning arrive Stavanger depart early evening.

Day 7 Day sailing. Day 8 Arrival early morning Newcastle and commence the homeward journey.

NB: Anchor ports will be visited by a small boat or ‘tender’ which transports guests from ship to shore.

NB: Optional excursions will be sent by and booked through Fred Olsen closer to the departure date.
