Itineray

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Hinckley and to the hotel for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursions:

  • Your day begins with a drive south to historic Coventry and a visit to the Museum of British Road Transport, with over 400 artefacts and thousands of items of memorabilia from the golden age of cars and cycles. The museum is only five minutes’ walk from the world-famous Coventry Cathedral. There will be time for lunch here before heading off to Baddesley Clinton House, close to Warwick. This atmospheric moated house has been a sanctuary since the 15th century, with three priest holes and peaceful gardens, with fish pools, a romantic lake and walled garden all of which are a delight.

  • This tour takes you to the northern outskirts of Leicester where you join the Great Central Railway for a return nostalgic steam train ride to Loughborough crossing the picturesque Swithland Reservoir on the way. On returning to Leicester, you will have time for lunch before visiting the Leicester Guildhall located away from the bustle of the busy shopping streets. Travel back 600 years and learn of the history in one of the best-preserved timber framed halls in the country.

  • Day 2 Travel to Birmingham for a one hour cruise on Brindley Cruises taking in the sites of Birmingham before travelling to the Black Country Museum in time for some lunch before spending the afternoon exploring this amazing museum. If you are a fan of ‘Peaky Blinders’, you may recognise the museum as many scenes were filmed there.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
