Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey north, cross the border and continue to Symington and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today you will visit Edinburgh’s Christmas Market where the festivities spread from St Andrew Square to East Princes Street Gardens. Enjoy the unique shopping experience and pick up some gifts from the many stalls. When you have finished exploring why not visit Edinburgh Castle, a historic fortress which dominates the skyline of Edinburgh or one of the many museums and galleries.
Day 3 You will head to Glasgow’s Winterfest located in George Square and St Enoch Square city centre. Historical buildings around George Square are adorned with festive lights, adding to the charm of attractions like the big wheel, Helter skelter and carousel. St Enoch Square hosts over 50 international chalets, presenting a global assortment of artisan products, crafts, gourmet delights and Santa’s train.
Day 4 This morning you will travel to New Lanark where we have included a visit to the award-winning New Lanark Visitor Centre. The centre tells the fascinating story of the cotton mill village which was founded in the 18th century. The town quickly became known under the enlightened management of social pioneer, Robert Owen. He provided decent homes, fair wages, free health care, a new education system for villagers and the first workplace nursery school in the world. In the afternoon you will visit Biggar with time to explore the town before returning to the hotel.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
