When autumn arrives in the Yorkshire Moors and Dales, the greens of the summer are replaced by a stunning array of rustic browns, golds and reds.

Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Yorkshire and to the hotel in Scarborough for a five night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will visit Pickering, the Gateway to the North York Moors for a free morning before continuing to Thirsk, a traditional market town nestled between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. We have included a visit to The World of James Herriot Museum. A fully- restored site of his original 1940’s home and veterinary practice.

Day 3 A free day to explore Scarborough.

Day 4 This morning travel along the coast to Whitby, an ancient and beautiful seaport with quirky shops and its Abbey ruins. After lunch travel to Goathland, a moorland village that has attracted many visitors after its appearance as Aidensfield in the TV series ‘Heartbeat’ and its role in the ‘Harry Potter’ films.

Day 5 A visit to the modern history museum of Eden Camp, where you step back in time and experience WWII as set out in the huts of the former prisoner of war encampment. NB: Please wrap up warm as it will be very cold in the huts during the autumn.

Day 6 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
