Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Lincolnshire and the hotel for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursions:-

  • This morning you will visit the International Bomber Command Centre for a guided tour. Visit the historic city of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral and Norman Castle. Time for lunch then meet your guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach. You will then have time to look around this fascinating city. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore and there are plenty of tea rooms.
  • You will spend the day at Grimsthorpe Castle, Park and Estate.
    On arrival you will enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits before partaking in a one-hour guided coach tour of Grimsthorpe Park. Returning for an included  lunch before a private guided tour of the Castle and to see many of the magnificent state rooms N.B Access to and from rooms on first floor is by two flights of stairs.
    Once the tour is over you will have time to explore the gardens and visit the tea rooms for afternoon refreshments.
  • You will travel to the attractive and bustling market town of Sleaford, located on the River Slea and Sleaford Canal, whose skyline is dominated by the 144 foot stone spire of St Denys’ Church. Sleaford is home to the highly acclaimed National Centre for Craft and Design which you may like to visit. Time for lunch before travelling to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, a living memorial to those of Bomber Command, where you will experience the atmosphere of a WW2 bomber airfield and well worth a visit.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
