Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Liverpool and the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 This morning, to give you an insight to this amazing city, we have included a two hour guided musical history tour by coach. You will learn about the legacy of Liverpool’s past and present, including a visit to Albert Dock, see some of the sites relating to the famous Beatles, including Strawberry Fields. After the tour you will then be able to spend the rest of the day explore on your own. Take a stroll along the vibrant waterfront, centred round the Royal Albert Dock, full of hotels, shops, restaurants and museums. If you are a Beatles fan, pop into the Cavern and enjoy a drink. The city is full of cultural and historical treasures from the eight museums to the two cathedrals. There is also the opportunity for football fans of Liverpool and Everton to book yourself a stadium tour.

Day 3 Today travel to Port Sunlight, the village founded by ‘Soap King’ William Hesketh Lever in 1888. The village was built to house Lever’s ‘Sunlight Soap’ factory workers, but today is home to a fascinating museum, beautiful architecture, a world-class art gallery and stunning parkland. We have included a guided tour showing life in the village as factory workers and residents. There will be free time to have lunch and visit the Lady Lever Art Gallery. Afterwards perhaps visit the Port Sunlight factory shop to find yourself a bargain.

Day 4 Another half day for you to explore the city. In the afternoon we have included a 2 hour cruise on Liverpool’s only floating restaurant and bar boat, the Floating Grace. Enjoy the splendour of Liverpool’s docks with a relaxing cruise and a tasty afternoon tea, including assorted sandwiches, mini cakes and two fresh scones with clotted cream and jam accompanied by a pot of English breakfast tea. You will travel under Gower Street Bridge into Wapping Basin passing the big wheel and Duke Dock’s entrance. The boat then continues on a scenic tour of the historic docks and Liverpool Marina, so you can immerse yourself in the city’s maritime heritage.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
