Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Ipswich in Suffolk and the hotel for a four night stay.
Days 2 - A half day ‘step on’ guided tour of Constable Country which will include East Bergholt, Flatford Mill and Dedham Vale. In the afternoon return to Ipswich and enjoy a two hour river trip from Orwell Quay. (The onboard facilities include a fully licensed bar and two toilets.)
Day 3 - Travel to Stowmarket for a visit to the Food Museum, formerly the Museum of East Anglian Life, a large 75-acre estate with 17 historic buildings, animals, gardens, river walk and a collection of over 40,000 objects and exhibitions to see and history to learn.
Day 4 - An excursion to Gainsborough’s House, birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, dating around 1500 with many interesting features, garden and collection of his work. Later you will travel to the ‘chocolate box village’ of Lavenham, England’s finest medieval village nestled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. We have included a visit to the historic Guildhall, containing exhibitions of local history, farming and woollen trade.
Day 5 - After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
