Shropshire, Black Country Living Museum and the Dee Valley

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Shropshire and the hotel in Telford for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursions:

• A visit to Shrewsbury. First you will embark on a unique and leisurely 40 minute cruise along the famous and picturesque River Severn loop. Afterwards you will have time for lunch and to explore Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Charles Darwin and the finest Tudor town in England.

• The Black Country Living Museum. Experience the Black Country of yesteryear as you explore over 250 years of history, from the Industrial Revolution to post- war prosperity, through living interpretation. Explore an entire historic town where you can step into period houses, shops and industrial workplaces to meet a host of historic characters. Leave the 21st century behind for the day and experience sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the Black Country. 

• Head to Church Stretton, nestled in a wooded valley, retaining much of its Edwardian character with a variety of independent shops, traditional tea rooms plus a unique antiques emporium. Some free time before travelling to Llangollen for lunch before boarding the Llangollen Railway for the 14.45 hours single journey following the River Dee through the Dee Valley for 10 miles to Corwen.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.

Set in its own grounds overlooking Ironbridge Gorge. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, WiFi, hairdryer, air con, complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift, bar, restaurant, garden terrace and excellent leisure facilities including indoor pool, spa, wellness centre and fitness centre.
