Poldark’s Trenwith, Cotswolds and the Wye Valley

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Gloucestershire and the hotel for a four night stay.

• Enjoy a drive through historic Stroud on the way to Cirencester, the ‘capital of the Cotswolds’. Enjoy a break here, giving you time to wander around the lovely town. From here you continue the journey to Royal Tetbury - renowned for its antique shops and royal connections. In the afternoon you will visit Chavenage House, a stunning 16th-century, Cotswold stone manor house. The house has many associations with the Civil War, including the tapestry-lined room in which Cromwell stayed in 1648. The house is featured as ‘Trenwith’ – the Poldark family manor from the popular TV series.
• Spend the morning in Gloucester, with the chance to look around the historic city centre and visit the magnificent cathedral,  here you will find the impressive Victorian Docks and the National Waterways Museum. In the afternoon you will travel to Stourport to join the River King Cruises for a relaxing trip cruise along the River Severn. 
  
  
• The visit today takes you along the shore road of the River Severn to the historic town of Chepstow. Take a short break here before meandering north up the beautiful Wye Valley, passing the ruins of Tintern Abbey on the way. Enjoy lunch in delightful Monmouth and then enjoy a cruise on the River Wye at Symonds Yat before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
