Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey to Plymouth to join the 15.45 hours sailing to Santander by Brittany Ferries. The ship offers three bars, restaurants, cinema and live entertainment. Your comfortable two berth inside cabin (upper and lower berth – bunk beds) has a shower, washbasin and toilet. Relax, enjoy dinner (not included) and enjoy a night on board the ship.
Day 2 You will arrive in Santander at approx. 13.00 hours and enjoy the short journey to the hotel in Isla for a four night stay. Check in and have the rest of the day to relax.
Days 3 to 5 A day at leisure in Isla to spend time on the beach, in the village, taking a walk or enjoying the hotel’s facilities. We have included the following excursions:
A guided day tour to Picos de Europa National Park and the Fuente Dé cable car. A scenic drive to the park’s Sotama Visitor Centre, close to the village of Poles. Free time here and lunch before travelling to Fuenta Dé to the cable car up the sheer mountain slope to enjoy spectacular views from the top, at a height of 1,800 metres.
- Visit to Santilana del Mar, a fascinating village on the World Heritage list, best described as a living museum. Stroll the cobbled streets and visit the many artisan shops, offering local arts and crafts. In the afternoon a stop will be made in Comillas, the ‘City of Archbishops’ with its grand architecture and historic centre before returning to Isla.
Day 6 After breakfast, you will say goodbye to Isla and head to Santander, where you will have time to explore the old town with its bars and restaurants. Visit the Cathedral of Santander and one of the museums before boarding the ship for the late afternoon sailing at 17.00 hours to Plymouth by Brittany Ferries.
Day 7 You will arrive back to Plymouth at approx. 14.00 hours and commence the homeward journey
